The Adventures of the Nerds series, consisting of The Eighth Continent and its sequel The Alien Invasion, is a unique and special journey. From its original concept and storyline to the captivating adventures of two schoolboys and a girl (and two schoolgirls in the sequel), dubbed “Nerds” by their peers, the series takes readers on an unexpected and thrilling ride that surpasses their wildest imaginations.

The authors of the first book, Adventures of the Nerds – The Eighth Continent, are Michael Lebhar and his two children, Tal and Zohar. Michael Lebhar is also the author of the sequel, Adventures of the Nerds – The Alien Invasion. A former member of a renowned rock group and an accomplished songwriter, musician, and singer, Michael has written other works, including The Origin of the Wisdom Trails (2 volumes) and From the King’s Treasure (10 volumes). He recalls the inspiration behind the book: “I envisioned a children’s adventure story that would resonate with both young readers and adults alike.”

Recognizing the importance of authentically capturing a child’s perspective, Michael collaborated with his children, Tal and Zohar, who were 13 and 11 years old at the time. “We worked on the book intermittently,” he explains, “and each day, the story evolved into an extraordinary adventure, culminating several years later in its completion.”

However, the manuscript remained dormant for approximately 12 years, tucked away in a drawer. It wasn’t until recently that Michael rediscovered the story. “Upon reading it again, I realized its potential as a genuinely page-turning adventure, a truly enjoyable story,” he reflects. Motivated by this rediscovery, he decided to publish it.

Following the success of The Eighth Continent, Michael decided to write a sequel, Adventures of the Nerds – The Alien Invasion. Now, both The Eighth Continent and The Alien Invasion are ready to delight readers with a tale brimming with imagination, friendship, and unexpected journeys—testament to the creative collaboration between a father and his children.
